Exmouth, Gateway to the Ningaloo Reef.
When flying in to Exmouth, the services land at Learmonth Airport, just to the south of the township. The whole North West Cape region enjoys hot dry summers with average temperatures of 38 C (100 F.) and warm, dry winters averaging 25 C. (75 F.), with the rainfall there is spread pretty evenly throughout the year. Annual rainfall averages about 260 mm. (10 Inches). The 2,000 residents of Exmouth service the Tourist industry, with the population swelling to around 6,000 people during the autumn and winter high season from March to June.

Cape Range National Park.
Running the length of the western side of the North West Cape Peninsula, the Cape Range National Park provides the perfect backdrop to the Ningaloo Reef. It is an area of caves, many of which are still unexplored, and is home to a lot of wildlife and shows off spectacular wildflowers in the southern spring during September and October. Cape Range National Park was declared in 1964, some 23 years before the declaration of the Ningaloo Reef Marine Park that protects the Ningaloo Reef.
