Bondi Beach is the Australian surfing icon.
The Hop-on, Hop-off Bus covers two routes that overlap to let you explore a lot of Sydney. Because you can pick either route up at any stop, then get off whenever and wherever you please, you see the things that interest you. After looking around near a stop, wait for the next Hop-on, Hop-off bus and head for the next place. To get from The Rocks to Bondi Beach, use the Sydney Explorer Tour, and get off at either William Street at Stop 5, or Central Station at Stop 14. Here the Sydney Explorer Tour overlaps with the Bondi and Bays Explorer.

This great routing covers all the main Downtown, Sydney Opera House, Rocks, Wooloomooloo and Darling Harbour highlights. Pick up the Bus at Circular Quay at Stop 1 and drive through Downtown Sydney. Either stay on the Bus for the whole tour, or change to the Bondi and Bays Explorer and head for the beach.

Swing through Kings Cross, then head east through the funky suburb of Paddington, through Bondi Junction and down to Bondi Beach. Get off and walk the beach and Campbell Parade for a taste of true Aussie beach culture. On the return trip the bus climbs and runs along the clifftops. The views out over the ocean along the Dover Heights part of the route are excellent, as is the vista back to the City looking up the Harbour. Then follow the foreshore through the upscale suburb of Vaucluse towards Downtown to pick up the Sydney Explorer again.
