Located 140Kms (87 mi) south of Cairns, the town of Tully boasts the highest rainfall of any populated area of Australia. Rainfall averages 3,000 mm (120 in) a year, and is spread evenly throughout the year. This makes Tully the white water rafting capital of Australia - and it has the benefit of being warm all year round. The Tully River offers some of the best tropical white water rafting, with its grade 4 rapids and lots of action. Rapids include "The Stair Case", "The Alarm Clock" and "The Theatre". It is a thrilling day for first-time rafters who want some controlled excitement on the water.

Your guides are fully experienced and make it a day of action, but it is not so extreme as to put off first-time rafters. Group size is small, making sure you have personal attention from the guide. The scenery is amazing - the tropical trees and plants crowd down to the river's edge, the water rushes and you are on your way to the white water adventure of a lifetime! Lunch will be a BBQ beside the river. Make sure you bring lace up shoes that can get (very) wet.
