Her appreciation of fine wines developed from an early age when her father established a small vineyard in the Hunter Valley in New South Wales which was eventually absorbed into The Rothbury Estate. Wine was a given with a meal in her household and was discussed and drunk with the family and friends around the dinner table for many years.
