COME ABOARD FOR A DAY LIKE NO OTHER
It’s an early start, leaving Mackay at 5 am to catch the Kangaroos on the beach at sunrise at the spectacular Cape Hillsborough National Park.
Just 40mins north of Mackay, the beach at Cape Hillsborough has become world famous for its sunrise with the kangaroos and wallabies experience. Every morning, the kangaroos and wallabies head down to the beach at sunrise to feed on seaweed and mangrove seed pods and they don’t mind posing for a few photos! The sunrises are pretty spectacular here and you’ll quickly see why it’s become such a popular spot. Then we all cook an Aussie Drovers Breakfast before departing for the Pioneer Valley to make our way up the spectacular Clark Ranges to Eungella
Eungella is believed to be an Aboriginal word meaning land of cloud, and once you are there, you will understand why. At over 2200ft above sea level, the views and breathtaking from the rainforest all the way to the sea.
We stop at the Sky Window Lookout where you can take in the amazing views of the Pioneer Vally below ( bring your cameras ). Then it’s off to Broken River, one of the best locations in Australia to spot the magnificent Playtapus in the wild. From multiple viewing platforms and locations, this shy marsupial can be spotted going about its day in the crystal-clear Broken River.
It’s here you get to help cook your AUSSIE BBQ lunch surrounded by the Rainforest. After we visit the historic Eungella Chalet where you can buy a drink and soak in the views.
