KI Ride offers guided motorbike adventure tours which take in the highlights of beautiful Kangaroo Island. Experience our wild places and winding roads up close in an adventure of a lifetime!
Local tour guide Luca knows all the island’s best-kept secrets. The 3 day/2 night dirt road adventure tour, departing Adelaide, has flexible accommodation and meal options, and can be tailored to your riding skill. The ride is predominantly on well-maintained dirt roads – with the occasional beach adventure!
ITINERARY:
Day 1: Depart Adelaide and ride to the Fleurieu Peninsula, taking in Rapid Bay or Second Valley in a brief stop over before catching a lunchtime ferry from Cape Jervis to Penneshaw.
Ride across Dudley Peninsula to the rugged Cape Willoughby with its historic lighthouse and breathtaking outlook.
Continue around Pelican Lagoon with its ever-changing colours and wide vistas to the picturesque waterside town of American River.
Ride to Discovery Lagoon campsite south of Emu Bay and sleep among towering eucalypts.
Day 2: Ride Emu Bay beach – 6 km of white sand beside a sparkling ocean.
Return to North Coast Road and follow its twists and turns to two of the island’s secret gems – Snellings Beach and Western River Cove, tucked among the craggy cliffs.
Continue to Flinders Chase National Park, lunching at the park café. See the iconic Remarkable Rocks and Admiral’s Arch.
Stay at one of The Chase’s many wild and picturesque campgrounds.
Day 3: Travel along the South Coast to Vivonne Bay, with its historic jetty and long, curved beach. Watch the antics of the ‘residents’ on a tour at Seal Bay.
Then see the diverse birdlife on the wetlands of Murray Lagoon and the wild coastline at D’Estrees Bay, before catching an early afternoon ferry across Backstairs Passage.
Arrive exhausted but satisfied in Adelaide by 6pm!

OPTIONS:
The tour is suitable for both experienced and less experienced riders. We can tailor the adventure to your needs in this regard. Either bring your own bike, or we can help you to hire a bike and gear in Adelaide. Your bike must be an adventure bike that is able to ride easily on dirt.
Make sure you are kitted out with all appropriate riding gear. Kangaroo Island weather can be an adventure in its own right, and your safety and comfort are our priority.
ACCOMODATION OPTIONS:
Camping or cabin accommodation are available. If you’re camping, you can bring your own swag or camping gear – or rent the necessary equipment from us!
MEAL OPTIONS:
Food is not supplied on this tour. Evening meals can be cooked on a campfire or on barbecues at the campsites. Lunchtime stops have been planned around cafés and other food outlets where you can purchase snacks and meals.
