Your team-building efforts will be super effective if you find the right team building activity. The Amazing Race and Cook-Off Challenge will help increase teamwork, encourages efficiency, improves productivity and more. If you want your team members to work well together, you’ll need to show leadership, encourage collaboration, work toward common goals, celebrate diversity and invest in events for building effective teams. Read on to learn how you can build effective teams in our team cooking.
Experience the highlight of Victoria Street with Asian foods in this fun and unique team-building activity. This team cooking challenge is designed as a hybrid it uses the same theme with the popular Amazing race TV. This will suit a variety of event styles where you want your team to have some great fun plus some challenges along the way.
Teams will then have to work together or nominate a leader to perform an activity or task designed to test their teamwork, communication and decision making in order to receive the clue to their next location. With our version, teams of 2-3-4 or 5 people will make their way to Victoria street grocer, meat, kitchen or fish stores encountering Decision (Detour) and Obstacle (Roadblock) challenges. They will take photos of the ingredients. They race to finish as the number one team.
They will then complete the 2nd challenge with cooking. Our chef and each team will judge teams to award the most authentic, tasty, well present dish. Victoria Street Richmond is famous for Vietnamese foods so naturally, we do Vietnamese food however we can work on Thai, Indian, Korean, Chinese or Japanese menus.

ON THE DAY
1-hour street challenge + 1-hour cooking + 1-hour hospitality and bonding
- Meet up with a chef in the front of Minh Phat Grocer 2 Nicholson Street, Abbotsford 3067.
- Challenge 1 – Decision – work out your menu
- Challenge 2 – Decision – find your dry ingredients at Minh Phat supermarket and/ or your vegetable and herbs at Saigon
Village - Challenge 3 – Decision – pick up your fresh seafood at Haiphu seafood
- Challenge 4 – Decision – get your meats at Son butcher
- Challenge 5 – Detour – get large pairs of giant cooking chopstick at Unicorn kitchen store
- Challenge 6 – Cook-off at Otao kitchen
Please observe the weather by wearing comfortable shoes, a jacket or umbrella if raining and perhaps bring a hat. We will provide a water bottle.
MENU SAMPLEEach team will make one dish within an hour to share with the other team and the chef. Together we vote for the best team!

Please note the meal you are eating will be catered by your own team in shared large plasters. Foods, beverage, chefs, and venue is included in the price.
BOOKING TERMS
- A minimum charge of $1,650 is applied to all group and venue bookings. If your group number falls below the minimum spend, the minimum spend is applied.
- A deposit of 10 seats or 50%, whatever is greater, is required to confirm your booking. Payment may be made via credit or debit card, cash or invoice. Full payment is required at the event booking time, within 14-day of the event date. The balance is due 14 days before the event upon confirmation of the guest number and their dietary requirements.
- If cancellation is made with more than 14-day notice, we will refund 50% of your deposit. For a cancellation is made within 14 days, no refund will take effect, and you will have to pay for the minimum spend. If your group voluntarily leave or does not show up to the event on the day, no refund will take effect.
- Final numbers and dietary requirements for your session must be confirmed no later than 14-day prior to the start time of the cookery session in order to give us enough time to pre-order the necessary ingredients and staff.
