Leaving the shop, we’re immediately immersed in Fremantle’s architecture and history. The convict-built Boys School is on our doorstep, opposite the stunning Basilica.

A short ride takes us to the Train Station, where we follow the original shoreline trail. This trail showcases the historic development of Fremantle and its relationship with the sea.

The port is central to Western Australia’s history. At the CY O’Connor statue, we’ll discuss the engineer’s significant contributions and the post-war migrant anxieties depicted in the nearby installation.
