After pickup, the first stop of the day for morning tea at seaside town Lancelin. Enjoy a browse of the coastal town with a delightful beach and the pristine white sand dunes.
An island offshore was named by Captain Baudin in 1801 after P.F. Lancelin, a scientific writer. First settlement in the area dates from the 1940s when the area was used as a summer recreation area for farmers from further inland.

Early cyanobacteria in stromatolites are thought to be responsible for increasing the amount of oxygen in the primeval Earth’s atmosphere through their continuing photosynthesis. They were the first known organisms to photosynthesize and produce free oxygen.
Lake Thetis Stromatolites are approximately 3000 years old.
