DESCRIPTION
Cradle Mountain National Park is filled with an incredible amount of scenery that is just begging to be explored and with this Wilderness day tour from Launceston, you can do just that. From ancient rainforests and glacial lakes to rugged mountains and luscious greenery, Cradle Mountain truly has it all and with five hours available to explore, you’ll be able to see more than enough.
Departing Launceston at 7:30 am, you’ll reach your first stop; Sheffield, the Town of Murals. Sheffield is a quirky and quaint village that depicts the history of the mountain through murals painted on buildings spread around the town. The next stop on the agenda is Cradle Mountain and Dove Lake, where you’ll be able to venture out on your own or stay with the guide as you follow the variety of walking trails. You can choose to follow the Dove Lake Circuit, climb to Marion’s Lookout for great views of the surrounding area, enjoy your lunch while soaking in the serenity and go on the search to see Cradle wombats go about their day. This adventure provides many great photo opportunities of the beautiful region before you begin your return journey back to Launceston. On your return to Launceston we make a stop at the delicious Van Diemans Land Ice creamery, making a range of flavours from local produce and visit Christmas Hills Raspberry Farm right next door. We return to Launceston around 6.00pm after a huge yet unforgettable Cradle Mountain day.
