DESCRIPTION
Within the last five years, Brisbane has quickly become one of the coolest cities in Australia, offering food and drink spots that easily rival Sydney and Melbourne. The emergence of Brisbane’s global city status and food scene has meant artisan producers of food, wine, beer and gin have begun popping up and we’re all about it! Our Brisbane Artisan Food & Drink experience is here to show you some of the best spots to taste in our popular growing city.
Our first stop is at the ambient Southside restaurant located within the epically cool Fish Lane Precinct in Brisbane’s Southbank. On arrival, we enter an urban forest perfectly juxtaposed with an industrial concrete backdrop, where guests can grab a drink at Southside’s Kiki Kiosk Bar. Once settled in, we will indulge in a five course banquet lunch with an East Asian twist. Expect menu items such as drunken scallops, truffle spring rolls, duck ragu, spicy chicken salad and char siu pork. Sound yummy? Well that’s because it is! Guests who are keen on the drinks package can select the add-on option to taste some of Australia’s best paired wines, beers and cocktails ideal for any palette.
Once we’ve lined our stomachs, the next stop is Brisbane’s very own winery, situated in the middle of the city! City Winery grow their grapes in wine producing regions of the Granite Belt and South Australia, making their wines in their Winery located in the James Street precinct. Here we will enjoy a guided tasting of the wines they have on offer from their white, rose and red varietals.
From the cool wine concept, we move onto perhaps the coolest Craft Brewery in Australia – Stone & Wood, who first began brewing tasty beers in Byron Bay and have since launched a Brissy brewery located in a rustic heritage listed building. Here we will have the opportunity to taste some of their epic core range beers including the famous Pacific Ale as part of their guided tasting paddle. Not a fan of beer? Not to worry – guests who prefer alternatives can opt for tastings which could include their Seltzers, Ciders, Sours or Kombuchas. Some of their Counter Culture range include tasty variations such as the Peachy Cheeks Sour, Tequila Queen Margarita Sour and Mango IPA to name just a few.
For those who favour a distillery visit over a brewery, the final stop can be changed to Brisbane’s newest artisan distillery, Granddad Jack’s – located in the up and coming suburb of Albian. Here guests will be treated to a tasting of their core range gins which are paired with tonic water.
