DESCRIPTION
The suburb of Flemington today boasts a vibrant multicultural community from Scottish to Italian, Asian to African and much more in between. Located just 7 kms from the CBD you can enjoy a coffee in an art deco building and taste your way through an Ethiopian wot, Indian curries, Malaysian hawker-style food and Somali tender spiced meats, best eaten with a banana. This cultural food walk will take you through the shops where local vendors will share stories and knowledge on their spices, artefacts and meat cuts, and if you bring a shopping bag, you never know what goodies you find to take home with you!
Included in your tour is:
- A progressive 3-course meal at 4-5 eateries through the course of the tour including stories about the history behind the foods and flavours of the shops

A wander through local spice shops, butchers, and grocery stores catering to various cultures to learn about the spices and ingredients from the different region

Visit cultural shops and have a chance to learn about the arts and crafts of the region.

This is a walking tour, The walk from the various venues is minimal and an easy walk. We recommend that you wear comfortable shoes. It is not fast-paced and comfortable for most people.
