DESCRIPTION
Departing from Kununurra we take an amazing scenic flight where you
receive a perspective of the Kimberley only seen from the air – all
passengers have a window seat!
We overfly Lake Kununurra, Lake Argyle, Kimberley Station Country and
the Osmond ranges before coming into circuit over Purnululu National
Park to view the ancient beehive domes and magnificent gorges.
On landing at Bellburn Airstrip (situated within the park)
your Kingfisher tours local Aboriginal Custodian for Country guide will greet you
we jump into the 4WDs and head off on the dirt track that runs
alongside the western side of the escarpment as we head for Echidna
Chasm. Morning tea is served before we
walk into the chasm, learning the stories of the cheeky Echidna as we
go,
our guides will keep you thoroughly entertained and fascinated with
their generational knowledge of country and place, this is an
extraordinary day.
After watching the chasm glow gold in the sunlight breaking into the
gorge walls you will head back in the 4WD and around to Cathedral Gorge for an informative interesting bush botanicals walk.
Once entering Cathedral your Gija guide will enlighten you with stories
of the sacred pool and the gate keeper of the gorge. Lunch is provided
in the gorge, then head on to the look out, learning about the cultural
and geological history of the area.
Ice cold refreshments, beer wine and cheese board all local WA produce
are provided on your return to the airstrip before we embark on the return flight to Kununurra, flying over the Argyle Diamond Mine, Carr Boyd Ranges and Ivanhoe Crossing.
