DESCRIPTION
Introduction
Join ‘BEST IN THE WET’ as ethical adventures seeks out those places and moments which define the WET SEASON here in the Top End. Waterfalls in flow, creeks at brimming point and nature unleashed. Get out to ancient stone country and see the earth shaping events unfold and be free.
Over 3 FULL DAYS you will visit Litchfield National Park and Kakadu National Park.
Day 1 – includes viewing the waterfalls in Litchfield as well as finding a spot or spots for a tropical swim before staying overnight at Mt Bundy Station.
Day 2 – Explore the region between Litchfield and Kakadu culminating in sunset viewing off the ancient Arnhem Land escarpment as the sun goes down OR a sunset yellow waters cruise (seasonal variation).
That night you will be staying at Cooinda Lodge.
Day 3 – Today there are 2 distinct itineraries which depend on the seasonal influences of the East Alligator River.
Option A – East Alligator River Region is accessible
Breakfast at Cooinda before moving to Jabiru to join the Guluyambi Combo cruise on Magela Creek which floats through flooded paperbark forests and floodplains on a journey to Ubirr Rock for an insightful guided tour through the many and varied rock art galleries.
Option B – East Alligator River is not accessible and Guluyambi Combo cruise not available
Experience sunrise on the Morning Yellow Waters cruise as the animals wake for another day in paradise. An internationally significant wetland it is also an area of living cultural value for the local Bininj people.
Following the cruise it is time for a hardy breakfast at Cooinda Lodge before we venture to the Nourlangie Rock region where you can wander the culturally significant rock art galleries of the first nation people of the region.

Following the OPTION of choice we will adjourn to the township of Jabiru to enjoy a spot of lunch at the iconic at own expense and a scenic flight for those that wanted the birds eye view*.
After lunch and safely landed it is time to begin the journey back to Darwin.
Expect to be back around 6 pm.
