The tour is a gentle, one and half hour, downhill walk from North Bondi to the Pavilion, on the beach. Everybody has tour guide headsets so that they can hear Walangari’s live narrative.
Walkers see ancient rock carvings and traditional Aboriginal bush foods and medicines still growing wild in beautiful, iconic Bondi. Stopping at points of interest, Walangari, an Arrernte elder and Bondi resident, relates how Aboriginal people used the area’s bountiful resources and the geological and social history of Bondi. He commences his walk with a didgeridoo ceremony and encourages walkers to ask questions along the way.
Sheduled tours take place on the first Sunday of every month.
