DESCRIPTION
Today, you will be picked up in central Geelong at 9 am. From there we will head up through the Moorabool Valley, and arrive at the Eureka Stockade, now known as the Museum of Australian Democracy, by 10.30 am. Be enchanted by the Diorama, and gaze at the original Eureka Flag. Learn of the fight by the miners, that eventually brought changes to our laws. You will have an hour to grab a coffee and wander the museum before we travel the short distance to Sovereign Hill.
Sovereign Hill is the most award-winning, re-created town, in Australia and possibly the world. Stroll the streets and you will feel what it was like in the mid-1800s.
Try your hand at gold panning, drop into the bakery, the blacksmith, sit in a classroom, wagons pulled by horses, the list goes on. Have a photo taken with
one of the many ‘characters’ wandering the streets. You will have plenty of time to find something to eat and drink in many of the taverns and bakeries in
town.
We have 4 hours here before we start the trip back to Geelong, arriving back a little after 5 pm.
