Hot days and cool nights in the Clare Valley during Summer and Autumn deliver powerful ripe wines with long natural acid. The climate drives a powerful yet elegant wine style, and is perfect for Riesling.
Whilst World renown for Riesling, the Clare Valley is one of the most diverse wine regions in the world by virtue of its unique geology, geography and micro-climates. There are around 30 different varieties grown, with the history of viticulture extending back to the 1840’s.
This tutored tasting involves selection of four wines selected from the Watervale Hotel by the glass wine list that demonstrate the diversity of Clare Valley wine styles. Our staff will educate you on Clare Valley climate, geology, geography and wine style, as well as some of the characters that make the wines.
Leisurely enjoy the wines with a selection of small snack plates to share from the Watervale Hotel kitchen.
The Watervale Hotel is a Farm Fresh to Plate restaurant in a casual country pub. The heroes of our kitchen are the organic, biodynamic Penobscot Farm and our local and sustainable farm partnerships. We make everything from scratch and respecting traditional methods where ever possible.
