Do you go cuckoo for birds? Then you’ll love our half day bird-watching expedition of Lake Argyle, a designated RAMSAR Wetland due to the large number and variety of birdlife found here. Over 240 species of birds have been recorded on or around the lake including Yellow Chat, Purple Crowned Fairy Wren and the Long Toed Stint. At times, individual flocks of certain species can number in the tens of thousands.

Lake Argyle has also gained a reputation as one of the best locations in Australia to observe certain species that are often difficult to find elsewhere. A number of well-known birdwatchers regularly bring their clients to us, knowing that our experience and ability to find sought-after species is second to none. On previous trips, guests have been pleasantly surprised at sighting up to 113 bird species in one day! This is no tour around a wildlife sanctuary. Instead, we head to one of a number of areas where you are likely to see wild kangaroos and possibly some native Australian birdlife. Our friendly knowledgeable guides aka ‘our kangaroo whisperers‘ are the best there are and will convey you to the Blue Mountains or Outer Sydney or further afield where we normally see many kangaroos, playing, eating, sleeping, etc. On some tours, we have seen over 100 kangaroos in the area on one day. These are wild animals in their natural surrounds. Depending on the day and how they are approached, you may see them lying on the ground, grazing, fighting, bounding away, playing, and generally enjoying themselves.

Please note that at times, we will upgrade you to the Urban Kangaroos tour at no extra cost at our discretion. At other rimes, we will take you to see Wallabies (a smaller species of kangaroo).
