This shore excursion takes us through the beautiful winding roads of the Huon Valley as we head to our first destination, Hastings Caves. Head underground with a specialist guide to explore the largest dolomite cave open to visitors in Australia. See spectacular stalactites, columns, shawls, and stalagmites. The cave is spacious with no narrow passages, however, there are 250 stairs with handrails leading in and out of the cave. Feeling chilly from the cave experience? Warm up in the nearby swimming pool which is fed by thermal springs. The water is 28 degrees Celsius all year. Soak in the views of the Huon river on our way back to Hobart, time permitting, we’ll finish the day with a visit to the summit of Mt Wellington/kunanyi where you’ll experience spectacular views of Hobart and its surrounding suburbs.

This shore excursion is for anyone wanting a taste of the Mersey Valley. Join us while we travel through the Mersey Valley, well known for its tasty produce, exceptional farming lands, and of course the locals with stories to share! On this five-hour shore excursion, we will visit some of the top attractions and towns in the area. It is timed to when your ship arrives and departs so you can be assured we’ll get you back to your ship on time! Due to the nature of Tasmania’s wild weather, our schedule may be adjusted where required, some of the places we might visit include Anvers Chocolate, Simon Martin Whips & Leathercraft, Spreyton Cider, and Australia Honey Products. A visit to Sheffield is guaranteed, and we’ll spend some time here before departing back to Burnie. If time permits, we’ll take the coastal road through the beautiful town of Penguin.
Enjoy the drive through the Derwent Valley, past New Norfolk, and into rich farming land as we head southwest to Mount Field National Park. Walk among towering swamp gums, myrtle, and tall man ferns as you head to the famous Russell Falls, Tasmania’s most photographed waterfall. Take in the fresh forest air as you walk through the ancient rainforest in one of Tasmania’s oldest National Parks. Grab a bite to eat at Waterfalls Café in the national park before we embark on our second stop of the day, Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary. Spend some time with our fluffy locals at the wildlife sanctuary before heading back to Hobart.

Start the morning with a stroll into the heart of this ancient rainforest ecosystem, with an easy and informative circuit around the Ancient Giants Trail, deep in the Nuwu Valley.
Followed by a rejuvenating swim in the pristine Dragons Lagoon.

This shore excursion takes you to the heart of the northwest, the seaside township of Stanley. On our way from Burnie sit back and enjoy the drive while we pass through picturesque farmlands to the left and captivating views of the Bass Strait to our right. Once in Stanley enjoy the short ride on the chairlift to The Nut. This odd-looking rock sits 143 metres above sea level and around 25 million years ago, was an active volcano. With 360-degree views of the Circular Head region, it makes for the perfect photo opportunity. See The Nut from a different perspective at Highfield House, built in the 1830s, this historic home has a few stories to tell! Spend some time wandering around this stunning old homestead and through the well-maintained grounds before having some time to explore Stanley. Stop by Godfrey’s Beach, Hursey’s Seafood for a tasty lunch, or take a self-guided walk around the historic homes of Stanley.
