Our expert guides will accompany you as you explore the Northern Rivers Rail Trail as you ride towards the 520-metre tunnel filled with enchanting Glow worms. Our dedicated team will pick you up from your accommodation and transport you to a charming township located just half an hour away from Byron. Set off at dusk on our e-bikes from Burringbar for a scenic night ride through the Nightcap National Park towards tunnels entrance. Your e-bike will be customised for a perfect fit and equipped with lights and panniers for your belongings. Upon arrival at the tunnel, we will dismount and walk inside to marvel at the mesmerising glow worms and microbats. Our knowledgeable guide will accompany you, sharing fascinating insights along the way.
Burringbar Range Tunnel, is one of NSW’s longest train tunnels at 500m. It offers ideal conditions for glow worms to thrive and microbats to roost. Unlike many rail tunnels it provides sufficient darkness whilst also creating a moist habitat that supports the enchanting glow worm population. This three-hour return journey allows ample time to appreciate the surroundings and still enjoy the rest of your evening.
