DESCRIPTION
What to expect at the Prodriver Rally Academy:
- You’ll receive 1-1 driver coaching and training from championship winning, ex-manufacturer team drivers, and current high-profile ARC drivers.
- You’ll drive on a range of surfaces including full tarmac, wet gravel, and a wet skidpan, and experience challenging stage scenarios, including water-splashes, jumps, narrowing tracks through gates, and tight S-bends through forestry.
- You’ll learn the basics of car setup, pacenotes, timing, and driver performance optimisation, from some of the best in the business.
- You’ll be provided with a helmet and racesuit to use while at the Rally Academy.
- You will be assessed on the day by your instructor/coach, and our performance team, to determine your potential for improvement, growth, and competitiveness, along with a number of additional key factors required to achieve results at the highest level in Rallying.
What happens next?
If our assessment team sign off on the performance and potential you have demonstrated during your day with us, you will be invited back for a second day at the Rally Academy, for an advanced training program and more time behind the wheel. During this second “invite only” Academy day, you can expect the following:
- Advanced driver performance coaching
- Extended time behind the wheel
- Sports Psychology – Introductory Session and Assessment
- Physical Training – Introductory Session and Fitness Assessment
- PR/Media Training – Introductory Session and Assessment
The next step:
If your performance and assessment results from your participation in the “invite only” Rally Academy day meets our “High Potential” requirements, you will be invited back once again to take part in a special selection day event, along with a small group of other potential future competitors selected by our Rally Academy Program assessment team. During this 3rd session on your journey to competitive rallying, you can expect the following:
- A private, closed event to assess your competitive pace and aptitude
- Support in acquiring relevant competition licences where required
- Further performance driving training
- Further (advanced) Sports Psychology and Physical Fitness training and assessments
- A final overall performance assessment, completed by our team and 3rd party Motorsport advisory team, to determine your realistic potential as a competitive rally driver, and establish your best starting point in the sport
The end goal/objective:
From this 3rd and final assessment event, you may be selected to join our Rally Academy team as a “rookie” driver. If you made it this far, congratulations, you’re well on your way to becoming a professional rally driver! Now the fun really starts! If you’re selected, the Prodriver team will get you ready for your first competitive event, including entry fees, administration, PR and Media exposure, testing/shakedown events, and pacenotes (if applicable). We’ll also provide you with a sponsored racesuit, helmet, and fully paid entry into the event. As a selected Rally Academy “rookie”, the full package you will receive includes:
- Fully sponsored entry into your first competitive event
- Compete in a fully sponsored Prodriver rally car
- Full technical support pre and during the event (Service Crew)
- Sponsored Helmet and Racesuit
- Team Clothing
- Press and Media Exposure
- A fully produced documentary style video of your event
- Much, MUCH more
If you impress in your first event, we will consider entering you into additional events, as we build up your experience and develop your skills. Our goal is to help you get to a level where we can enter you in an ARC round, fully sponsored. From there, we’re looking to provide a fully sponsored drive for one of our Academy members, across as many ARC rounds as feasible to achieve a championship win in either 2WD, Production Cup, or Overall ARC Championship.
Next stop? The World Rally Championship, of course! đ
If we can get you to a point where you’re consistently winning, and potentially have a championship wrapped up, we will consider a sponsored entry in a WRC round for you. Our end-game is to identify and support the next Australian based World Rally Champion, from the ground up. Believe us, we’re just as excited about the prospect as you are.
Who can participate?
If youâre between the ages of 16 and 28, youâre able to enrol straight away. If youâre under 18, you must provide the express written consent of your parent or guardian, and the same parent or guardian must attend with you. If youâre between 14-16, weâll consider your application to enrol on a case-by-case basis, so please email us on [email protected] with your details, please include in the email CC field your parent or guardianâs email address, and also provide us with their phone number. If youâre over 28, we will still consider your application to enrol, as long as you provide us with some details of any Motorsport experience, or compelling reason for your selection.
