The Narrowneck trail suffered a land slip on the access road leading to the trail. Riders cannot access this part of the trail now. Instead, a new walking track has been cut in by the National Parks, and accessed from Narrowneck Lookout on Cliff Drive. There is a lot of stairs on this walking track that takes you down to the start of the trail. You cannot ride the access track, but must walk the bike. Down down the access track is ok, but coming up is tough going, especially if your carrying a 23kg e-bike. For epic views, we suggest the Hanging Rock trail. Its shorted but the lookout is so so worth it. After Hanging Rock, you can grab lunch then head to one of the best hikes in mountains,,, the GRAND CANYON. This combo gives you a full day of amazing BM adventures!
This is a self-guided ride. We meet you near the start of the trail, and give you a comprehensive rider briefing before you set off.
This is a very hard ride for the average person. With nearly 900 vertical meters of climbing over 30km, this ride naturally comes with lots of steep up and downhills. We recommend this ride for confident riders only, and we recommend our e-bikes to get the most enjoyment out if it. An alternate ride with even better views is the Hanging Rock trail.
### BMBA self guided tours and hire require minimum numbers for the day to go ahead. The booking system will send a pending order email confirmation upon your online booking. When minimum bookings are received, bookings/rides will be automatically confirmed. Regardless of whether ride goes ahead or not, you will receive an email from the owner (Sam) the night before your ride to confirm the status and info about the ride and logistics. Rides that do not go ahead will be instantly refunded, or you can choose another date and the booking will be moved…whatever suits you best! The above is not totally inflexible and Sam will help, with pleasure, where ever possible.
ABOUT THE RIDE AND WHATS INCLUDED
Mountain bike, helmet, custom bike fitting, bike operation and trail/ride briefing, riding tips and techniques.
Extra’s Inclusion: Gloves, puncture repair kit, spare tube, combination lock. All are on a hire basis.
You can expect your ride experience to last from 3 to 4 hours.
The spectacular Narrow Neck trail follows a ridge-line deep into the valley, offering exhilarating scenic views across the
Megalong Valley in the world heritage listed Blue Mountains National Park. Setting out from Katoomba, a quick ride from town will take you off the tarmac and deep into the undulating trails of this unspoilt wilderness area. While there are a few short sharp hills that will test out your stamina, the phenomenal views are more than ample reward to keep you going. Plus as this ride is an ‘out and back’ route, the climbs you ride up on the way out transform into exhilarating descents on your return trip.

This is not your typical basic bike hire business. This is a premium mobile service that offers you a self guided ride experience. Safety is paramount as obvious by the quality modern equipment used. You are met with your bikes ready to go near the start of the trail/ride. Sam (the owner) spends 30 minutes with you as he personally fits you to the bike and helmet, runs through bike operation, trail information and provides you with some riding skill and technique tips to help you get the most out of yourself, the bike and the trail.
