Once upon a time, in the lush landscapes of the Northern Rivers, a group of adventurers (that’s you!) embarked on a remarkable journey.
They were seekers of extraordinary experiences, yearning for a perfect blend of nature’s beauty and culinary delights.

Their adventure began as they stepped foot on the Northern Rivers Rail Trail at the delightful riverside town of Murwillumbah. With each stride, they discovered a world painted with vibrant hues, where rolling hills, enchanting old rail bridges and meandering rivers unfolded before their eyes. The air was filled with the scent of wildflowers, teasing their senses and inviting them deeper into the heart of this enchanting region.

As they walked, the group found themselves enchanted by the alluring aroma of freshly baked pastries. The first stop led them to the Tweed Regional Gallery and the Margaret Olley Art Centre. There, they indulged in Parisian-inspired delights, crafted by the talented artisans of Baked at Ancora. They claim to have the “best Parisian pastries this side of the Equator”. On a delightful balcony with a view of the impressively majestic Mount Warning they indulge in morning tea of coffee, tea & pastries.

Rejuvenated and with newfound energy, the adventurers continued their journey, guided by the trail’s twists and turns. They revelled in the joy of exploration, stumbling upon the captivating town of Stokers Siding. Its small town charm and warm hospitality drew them in, and they were treated to a tantalizing lunch of locally sourced produce.

As the day waned, they found themselves at the doorstep of a charming farm stay. The campsite beckoned with crackling fires and the promise of enchantment. Laughter and stories filled the air as the group shared a delightful dinner, their taste buds dancing with flavours that seemed to be plucked straight from nature’s abundant pantry.

With the rising sun, they embarked on another day of wonder after a hearty farm style breakfast. The morning walk led them through the mystic Burringbar tunnel, where the twinkle of glow worms and the fluttering of microbats captured their imagination. Emerging into the sunlight, they were greeted by the intoxicating aromas of artisanal cheeses at the Tweed Valley Whey Farmhouse Cheese Factory. Each bite was a revelation, a journey into the heart of craftsmanship.

Further exploration revealed the hidden gems of Burringbar, where vintage wares and eclectic experiences awaited. A grassy knoll glamorous pop-up picnic, was a feast for the senses amidst nature’s embrace. Satiated and content, they strolled through the whimsical town of Mooball, their spirits uplifted by the playful ambiance and the warm embrace of the locals at the hotel enjoying an afternoon drink.

As the group reached the end of the rail line, a bittersweet feeling settled within their hearts. The journey was nearing its end, but the memories would forever be etched in their souls. They bid farewell to the Crabbes Creek old vintage General Store, cherishing the moments that had woven them together as a family of adventurers.

With a renewed sense of appreciation for the simple joys in life, they boarded the bus, their hearts brimming with gratitude. They had discovered a slice of paradise, where nature’s wonders and culinary delights intertwined, creating an unforgettable tale of friendship, flavours, and the magic of the Northern Rivers.

And so, their story became a whispered legend, shared among kindred spirits, inspiring future wanderers to embark on their own extraordinary adventure along the Northern Rivers Rail Trail.

Experience the legend for yourself.
