Hunter Heroes Wine Tasting Experience
The Hunter Valley is Australia’s oldest producing wine region. The first vines were planted in the 1820s. Today there are over 150 wineries producing a wide range of exceptional wines reflective of their origin. One of the founding families of Hunter Valley wines, the Tulloch family story began in 1895 when John Younie (J.Y.) Tulloch accepted an unusual settlement for a debt – a 43 acre property in nearby Pokolbin. Tulloch took an immediate liking to the property and the five acres of neglected Shiraz vines it contained and undertook his first foray into viticulture and winemaking.
Immerse yourself in the history of Tulloch Wines in Australia’s oldest wine region, the Hunter Valley. In this tasting 6 Tulloch Wines have been chosen to perfectly represent the ‘Hunter Heroes’, the best known grape varieties of the Hunter being Semillon, Shiraz, Chardonnay & Verdelho. Included in this tasting is a wine from our museum cellar giving you an opportunity to taste and compare an aged Hunter wine alongside current release wines.

At Tulloch we are proudly family friendly and inclusive. We have created experiences for both your younger kids, teenagers and non-drinkers. All visitors to our Cellar Door require a booking and your group will be seated together on the one table. We have mobility parking spaces available and direct level access to our Cellar Door. Guide & Support dogs are welcome inside. If you have particular mobility requirements please let us know so we can help to accommodate your arrival.
Kids Junior Experience (Child) $15 – Let the kids get involved and keep them entertained whilst you enjoy your wine tasting. A specially prepared junior experience with 4 different soft drinks & 4 matching snacks (nut free) will be presented. Children will be seated at the same table as the adult wine tasting (please note, children are to be supervised by an adult while visiting the premises). Teens Kombucha Tasting (Teenager) $20 – A sophisticated experience to be enjoyed by your teens and other non drinkers whilst you enjoy your wine tasting. A selection of Mailer McGuire specialty Kombucha paired with a local cheese box. Please select the Teenager pricing for this experience.
