Royal National Park Tour

Sydney, New South Wales

This tour is exclusively for your group. The Royal National Park has a range of beautiful natural formations – freshwater pools, waterfalls, lagoons, cliffs, beaches and rockpools.

One way of appreciating the park is to do a hike and we have three walks to choose from. You can only pick one walk.

The first one is a rainforest walk (90 minutes).

The second walk to Wedding Cake Rock takes around 2 hours with stops. We will enjoy spectacular cliffs, sandstone formations and native flora as we head to Wedding Cake Rock.

The third walk (3 hours with stops) is to spectacular Eagle Rock. The nearby waterfall drops straight into the ocean. A joy to behold!

When we return from one of the walks we will visit Wattmolla waterfall and beach. Time for a nutritious lunch.

Next stop is Bald Hill lookout and cantilevered Sea Cliff Bridge.

If you would rather do less walking we are flexible and can change the day into more of a sightseeing tour.

Join us for an uplifting day in nature.

DESCRIPTION

Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Stop At: Bundeena, Bundeena, Sutherland Shire, Greater Sydney, New South Wales

If we decide to do the Wedding Cake Rock walk we will depart for the walk from the back streets of Bundeena.

Bundeena is a small town with relaxed beaches facing the Port Hacking River.

We will have a short stop at Horderns Beach near the Bundeena wharf and then make our way along the coastal track to Wedding Cake Rock.

Duration: 15 minutes

Stop At: Wedding Cake Rock, Bundeena, Royal National Park, New South Wales Australia

On our way to the Wedding Cake Rock we will enjoy The Balconies and the Waterrun.

There is much to see on the walk including spectacular cliffs, rugged and unusual sandstone formations and broad array of native plants.

Wedding Cake Rock is white in colour, has a flat top and smooth edges which makes it look like of a slice of wedding cake.

The crack on the western side of the rock enhances the appearance of a sliced piece of cake.

It is most dazzling on a sunny day as the blue of the Pacific Ocean provides a perfect contrast to the white of the rock.

There is also an option of going a little further to Marley Beach which we will discuss on the day.

Duration: 2 hours

Stop At: Curracurrong Creek, Royal Nat’l Park NSW 2233, Australia

Curracurrong Creek drops directly into the ocean.

Nearby Eagle Rock is a jaw dropping piece of sandstone that extends into the air seemingly without support and when looked at from the side has the profile of an eagle.

The walk to the Rock allows us to see spectacular views from the many cliffs and provides the chance to see native bird life.

Travelers have the choice of visiting either Wedding Cake Rock or Eagle Rock but only one can be chosen. If in doubt get in touch and we can give further details about the two walks.

Duration: 3 hours

Stop At: Otford lookout, Lady Wakehurst Dr, Otford, New South Wales 2508 Australia

Otford Lookout is one of the best lookouts to appreciate the dramatic drop down to the ocean from the Illawarra escarpment.

It is a long way! We will also see some native flora on the short walk to the lookout.

Duration: 15 minutes

Stop At: Bald Hill Lookout & Hang Gliding Spot, Lawrence Hargreave Drive, Stanwell Tops, New South Wales 2508 Australia

Bald Hill provides sweeping views of the beaches to the south and on a clear day you can see Wollongong and Port Kembla.

Sometimes we will see, depending upon the conditions, paragliding and hang gliders being launched from Bald Hill.

Duration: 15 minutes

Stop At: Sea Cliff Bridge, Lawrence Hargrave Drive, Coalcliff, New South Wales Australia

Sea Cliff Bridge was constructed out of necessity to avoid rockfalls onto the previous road clinging to the Illawarra Escarpment cliff face.

The bridge has great curves!

When you look down and see the large drop to the ocean below you cant but help admire the design and construction work involved in building this bridge.
