This fascinating heritage experience begins visiting the Whitsundays best beaches at Bowen, a 1 hour drive north to the top of the Whitsundays through cane fields and cattle farms.Next head west 1 hour inland through the agriculture fields and along the Clarke Range to Collinsville to the the vast open plains where we hear tales of the land as we enter the sediments of the inland sea from millions of years ago and views of this big sky landscape.
This heritage experience begins
departing Airlie Beach embarking on a 1 hour scenic drive north that showcases the
diverse landscapes of the region. Our first stop takes us to the historic town
of Bowen, where we delve into its rich maritime history and indulge in breathtaking
coastal views showcasing the best beaches in the Whitsundays. Coffee and morning tea.
Next, we venture 1 hour inland to
Collinsville, originally Moongunya, home to the Birri. A town steeped in the legacy of coal mining. Here, we visit an historic
local coal mine, Mine 1, where you’ll gain insight into the challenges and triumphs of
the mining industry that shaped the region.

there. Prepare to be enchanted as we make our way to a Kangaroo Sanctuary,
