Itinerary
Day 1: Archerfield – St George – Cunnamulla
Stop At: St George, St George, Queensland
We fly from Archerfield to St George where we stop for fuel and a tour of the area. The tour includes a look at colonial architecture. Lunch at a local winery.

Stop At: Cunnamulla, Cunnamulla, Queensland
We overnight at Cunnamulla, a classic Queensland outback town. enjoy the town tour with a local who has some tales to tell.

Day 2: Cunnamulla – Arkaroola
Stop At: Arkaroola Resort and Wilderness Sanctuary, Flinders ranges, Arkaroola, South Australia 5732 Australia
From Cunnamulla we truly head outback with very little civilization out here. We land at Balcanoona and transfer to Arkaroola in the Flinders Ranges. We arrive in time for an afternoon hike (optional) followed by dinner. After dinner, get to know the stars in a night sky that is jaw dropping spectacular.

Day 3: Arkaroola to William Creek
Stop At: Arkaroola Wilderness Sanctuary, Arkaroola, South Australia 5732 Australia
Early start at Arkaroola with the Ridge Tour 4WD experience. We lunch prior to leaving for the next leg of our journey.

Leaving Arkaroola we get to play spot Maree man!
We refuel in Maree if required.
On the way to William Creek we fly over the southern Lake Eyre.
We spend the night in William Creek staying at the William Creek Hotel, truly the middle of no where. Try your hand at star Photography while here as this is the best location for minimal external light interference.

Day 4: William Creek – Northern Lake Eyre – Simpson Desert – Birdsville – Winton
Stop At: Birdsville, Birdsville, Queensland
We start the day with a fly over of northern Lake Eyre and can compare it to the southern Lake Eyre from the day before. Leaving the lake marvel at the “Channel Country” and the hardship of the Birdsville Track. Once in Birdsville enjoy morning tea sitting atop Big Red, no hardship required. Tour the area and visit the dingo caves. Returning to the “Pub” drink a beer and enjoy a great lunch with time to reflect on all you have seen.

We fly to Winton over some of the harshest country in Australia. Glad you are up in the air rather than bumping along down there?
Arrive in time to check out the town and the Waltzing Matilda Museum.

Day 5: Winton – Longreach
Stop At: Winton, Winton, Queensland
Today it’s dinosaurs at the Age of Dinosaurs Museum.
Follow in the footsteps of the dinosaurs at the Age of Dinosaurs Museum. Learn how they are found and preserved. Marvel at what used to roam the plains.
Lunch in Winton prior to our flight to Longreach.
Duration: 8 hours
Stop At: Longreach, Longreach, Queensland
The Stockmans Hall of Fame Museum and iconic Qantas Museum are must see attractions in Longreach. While in Longreach we stay at the Saltbush Resort or the Albert Park Motor Inn and enjoy that evening on a paddle steamer with dinner by a camp fire.

Day 6: Longreach – Queensland Fraser Coast – Brisbane City.
Stop At: Longreach, Longreach, Queensland
Stockman Hall of Fame and the Qantas Museum are two iconic must see attractions which we cover this morning.
Stop At: Brisbane, Brisbane, Brisbane Region, Queensland
Leaving Longreach we head for home via Emerald. As we approach the coast contrast the outback landscape with the Fraser Coast and the beautiful moving sands of the coastal waterways, finishing with a view of Brisbane City. Depending on the time of day we may also see the lights of the city of Brisbane, wave at the Tourists on Mount Coot tha as we fly past.
