DESCRIPTION
In the Heart of Cape Tribulation!
Our guided night walk will reveal some of the Daintree Rainforest’s hidden creatures, from an interesting array of insects, to sleeping birds, Boyd’s forest dragons, bandicoots, bats, spiders and even snakes. Little has changed in the Daintree Rainforest over the last 120 million years. Man’s impact has been minimal and it’s a landscape rich with natural history, flora and fauna. A place we’re excited to share with you. Armed with a flashlight and a very knowledgeable local guide, we set out on Dubuji Boardwalk trails to explore the rainforest and to meet some of the creatures that call the Daintree home. There’s no interpretive signage, just you, a torch and your very own human Wikipedia to introduce you to the furry, feathery and scaly locals. While we can’t guarantee what you might specifically see, we commonly see and hear frogs, bandicoots, Boyd’sforest dragons, spiders and some weird but wonderful insects. If we’re really lucky, we might also see a Bennett’s Tree Kangaroo or an amethystine python.
Tours depart nightly at 7 pm, with an additional 9 pm departure over the School Holidays. If you are self-driving, please be ready at the Reception of Ferntree Rainforest Lodge 15 minutes prior to the commencement of your tour. Bookings are essential.
