Blue Adventures Private Wildlife & Rainforest Safari Port Douglas

Port Douglas, Queensland

Venture off the beaten track and explore the diverse Port Douglas region with Blue Adventures. Our tours have an emphasis on seeing wildlife and we spend time exploring World Heritage rainforest, cruising on a rainforest fringed volcanic crater lake and taking relaxing nature walks in some stunningly beautiful locations – all areas rich in native Australian animals.

On tour we regularly see wild animals including kangaroos, platypus, emus, wallabies, tree kangaroos, lizards and prolific birdlife.

* Please note that we require a minimum of 2 passengers to confirm a small-group wildlife and rainforest tour. If we do not meet minimum numbers we will contact you to discuss alternative dates or other our options.

DESCRIPTION

Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Stop At: Lake Barrine, Yungaburra, Queensland Australia

River Cruise and lunch over looking the crater lake

Duration: 2 hours

Stop At: Curtain Fig National Park, Yungaburra, Queensland Australia

This park protects the endangered Mabi forest, characterised by semi-deciduous canopy trees allowing ample light to reach the forest floor. Notably, it houses a unique fig tree with extensive aerial roots forming a striking “curtain” effect. Originating from a seed dropped high in the canopy, the strangler fig gradually strangled its host tree, leaving a freestanding fig tree estimated to be over 500 years old, nearly 50 meters tall, with a trunk circumference of 39 meters.

Blue Adventures Wildlife tours is actively planting trees with ReForest Australia to help restore the region to pre industrial logging days.

Duration: 20 minutes

Stop At: Granite Gorge Nature Park, 332 Paglietta Rd, Mareeba, Queensland 4880 Australia

During our private wildlife tours, we include a stop at Granite Gorge Nature Park, where you’ll have the opportunity to observe the Mareeba rock-wallaby (Petrogale mareeba). This rare species of rock-wallaby is native to the Mareeba area and was officially recognized as a separate species in 1992. It’s a chance to witness firsthand the unique biodiversity of the region.
