Our Basic Freediver is the perfect way to learn and build your skills in a controlled and confined environment.
OceanSense Freediving instructors will take you through the Theory of Freediving, a breath Workshop, Yoga for Freediving and a pool skills session to work on techniques to build your confidence in the water.
Please note: This is a pool only certification that could later be upgraded to the full certification.
WHAT’S INVOLVED?
The one day Basic Freediver course consists of two main phases to learn the fundamental Freediving techniques.
Your instructor will guide you through the following:
- Theory of freediving
- Breath and Meditation workshop
- Pool skills session:
- Static apnea
- Dynamic apnea
- Rescue technique
To complete this course certification requirements, we will help you achieve:
- A static Breath hold of minimum 1’30”
- A dynamic Apnea of 25m | 30m
- A competent pool rescue
- Good fining technique and body possitioning
After this course you will be ready to upgrade and complete the full Freediver course to practice the techniques in the ocean.
COURSE PREREQUISITES
To enrol in a Freediver course you:
- Must be 12 years old or older.
- Must be able to swim 200 meters.
- Have no medical conditions related to this activity. (Download the medical form here)
-> No prior experience with snorkeling, skin diving or freediving is required.
