DESCRIPTION
This tour combines a visit to the Monarto Safari Park with the beautiful Adelaide Hills. Two special regions in one trip with the Zoo being the highlight. Monarto Safari Park is a 1,500-hectare (3,700-acre) open-range zoo located in South Australia administered by the Royal Zoological Society of South Australia and is one of the largest open-range zoos in the world. It is undertaking a major role nationally and internationally in breeding programs for rare and endangered species. It is the home of Australia’s largest giraffe herd and South Australia’s first-ever southern white rhinoceros. The shuttle bus departs the Visitor Centre at regular intervals which enables you to get on and off at a variety of wildlife viewing platforms including, Giraffe, Rhino, Cheetah, Lion, African Painted Dogs and Chimpanzee. Or you can use the 10 kilometres of walking tracks that meander through the Mallee bushland of the zoo and can be incorporated with the stops for the Zu-loop bus service or just use the bus. Don’t forget there are several behind-the-scenes experiences on offer if you would like to get a little closer to your favourite animals but you will need to book ahead! The Visitor Centre is open and welcoming. It includes a large Cafe dining area, gift shop, Interpretive centre and Information desk to answer any questions. Once you have interacted with the animals to your heart’s content we travel back to Hahndorf giving you time to soak up the German history, take in the sights and perhaps even try a few wines or beers.

- Pick up from your Adelaide CBD Accommodation or Glenelg at 8:30 am
- Scenic drive through the Adelaide Hills, maybe spot a koala or kangaroo in the wild

- Beerenberg Farm Shop
- Monarto Zoo
- Historic Hahndorf
- Return to Hotel in Adelaide CBD or Glenelg and Hahndorf – 5:30 pm
