DESCRIPTION
Get a glimpse of Kangaroo Island’s history, culture, and local products on our half-day exploration of Kingscote and nearby local producers.
First stop is the iconic Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Distillery. Here you can learn about the manufacturing process and history of the eucalyptus distillery via a short DVD. You can also view a large range of local products and produce. Keep a look out for the friendly local Kangaroos and emus that call the ridge home.
Next stop is the Kangaroo Island Ligurian Bee Co where you can taste and purchase some of the purest honey in the world.
Then travel to the township of Kingscote, the largest town on the island and South Australia’s oldest European settlement. You will have 1 hour to explore the main township, shop at the local gift shops or have lunch in one of the local cafes.
As you depart Kingscote, drive past the famous Silo Art which has become a fan favourite. Marvel at the largest Kangaroo in Australia and the Glossy Black Cockatoo. An amazing photo opportunity!
Next you travel to Kangaroo Island Brewery where a fantastic taste testing of their famous craft beers and ciders await you.
Local informative history is provided whilst you enjoy your transfer to Pennington Bay. A wild and rocky coastline, this is another fantastic opportunity for photos!
Having visiting several different key locations and enjoy sampling local goods and products you head back to Penneshaw. This tour is the perfect way to learn something of Kangaroo Island life, its history, local culture and unique products that are only found on the island.
PLEASE NOTE – If minimum tour numbers are not reached the tour will be cancelled. Notification of tour cancellation will be made 48 hours in advance.

PICK UP POINT
Pick Up and Drop off are at the Cnr of North Terrace and Nat Thomas Street, Penneshaw, SA, (To the left of 49 North Terrace and directly across from the Church). An Information Booth will be situated at the pick up point. PLEASE CHECK IN AT THE INFORMATION BOOTH 30-MINUTE BEFORE TOUR DEPARTURE TIME. Pick up point is only a 10-minute walk from Penneshaw Wharf.

- You must arrive 30-minutes before tour departure time
- Please Note – only Telstra and Optus phones have service on Kangaroo Island
- Your driver will also function as a tour guide, providing information on sights seen and local knowledge.

- Participants must be 18 years or older to participate in the tasting at Kangaroo Island Brewery
- Please wear comfortable flat-soled shoes, clothing suited to the weather conditions, a hat, a jacket if required, sunscreen and bring bottled water.
