We keep this tour simple, exploring the diverse regions of southern Tasmania, each offering wild natural landscapes and passionate producers behind the distilleries and wineries.
On our 1 day option, your choice is of one of the following destinations:
- Derwent Valley and Mount Field National Park , Around an hour from Hobart, the Lady Barron Falls Circuit takes in several of Tasmania’s most beautiful waterfalls. Sitting amongst the beautiful rainforests of the Mount Field National Park, we walk past the old growth and fresh, crisp waterfalls on this two-hour, 6km easy trail, where we may even spot some native Tasmanian wildlife. After lunch we will visit producers such as Derwent Distillery, Killara Distillery, Shene Distillery or Derwent Estate Vineyard.
- Bruny Island, After the short morning ferry crossing, we head to Adventure Bay for a walk around the coastal clifftops of Fluted Cape, taking time to explain the geology and share stories from the past of this island off an island. Our lunch is taken in a local winery. On the way back to the ferry, we will pause for a platter of oysters and other delicious local treats.
- Tasman Peninsula, Just an hour and a half out of Hobart presents one of Tasmania’s diverse natural coastal communities, historical back drops and bushwalking trail mecca’s. With a wide variety of trails we have selected one that provides great balance, diversity and moderate levels of fitness needed. Allowing most adventurers to take on. The reward is great, sweeping remote beaches, coastal headlands and resilient stories from our past and present.
- Mount Wellington/kunanyi, We will explore mountain tracks and trails that are right in Hobart’s backyard, including some challenging steep sections, rock screes, fern glades and spectacular views from the top of our kunanyi. Along the way we will share great stories of hidden caves and Hobart’s past and present history. After lunch, it is back to Hobart to explore some inner-city distilleries such as Lark and Captain Blighs.
As we start with a morning bush walk amongst some of Tasmania’s remote and spectacular landscapes, there will be variations in lunch offerings, such as packed picnics and sit down offerings, this will depend on chosen walks.
Because of our small private nature, we can customize this itinterary to the needs of our guests, catering for their interests and going in search for a relaxing reward after the mornings walk.
