Starting in the morning, we pick you up and head up to Kunanyi/Mt. Wellington, starting with a short stroll to one of the mountain’s many secret waterfalls. At the top, you’re given time to take photos and look around. If the weather’s right, you might even get to have a snowball fight.
On our way down, we stop and warm up by an open fireplace with a hot drink, before continuing on our journey.

Stop At: Mount Nelson Lookout, Nelson Road Mount Nelson, Hobart, Tasmania 7007 Australia
Our next stop is Mt. Nelson. Nestled above the river side suburb of Sandy Bay, this mountain lets you take in views of the city, Derwent estuary and surrounds. On a clear day, you can see as far as the Tasman peninsula and Bruny Island. For those with an interest in history, there’s also an old signal station here, providing insight into how early settlers would send messages between Old Hobart Town and Port Arthur before telephone or radio.

Stop At: Sandy Bay, Hobart, Tasmania 7005 Australia
By now you might be mountained-out, so we take you down to Lower Sandy Bay, passing the Casio and “Golden Mile” with its rows of mansions on the way. Here you have a variety of lunch options, including woodfired pizza, classic takeaway, chinese and contemporary Australian.
After lunch, you have the choice of exploring the nearby beaches and parklands or visiting a historic cannon fort.

Stop At: Taroona, Taroona, Kingborough, Greater Hobart, Tasmania
Next we take you through Hobart city’s most southern suburb of Taroona, passing the high school attended by Mary, Crown Princess of Denmark on the way. We then spend some time at Hinsby beach, its natural setting in the trees is a hidden Hobart gem. Here you can sunbathe, walk along the rocks or even take a swim. We then pass the Shot Tower, a historic tower which was once the tallest in the southern hemisphere.

Finally, we travel a little further down the river to give you some more river views, before making our way inland to the Longley Hotel. Situated in the forested foothills of Mt. Wellington, this characterful pub is a locals favorite for cold beer, pub meals and live music. The historic interior is lined with photographs and artifacts from the past, whilst outside boasts a large courtyard with rustic wooden furniture and views of the surrounding forest.
