At Otao Urban Kitchen, we specialise in chef-led cooking classes that celebrate the love of food through a broad range of cuisines. Our cooking and team-building experiences provide the perfect opportunity to reward your colleagues and reconnect outside the office or home workspace.
This is team building your team will actually love – fun, interactive, and hands-on. Together you’ll create delicious dishes in a customised open kitchen, working with fresh, seasonal ingredients while learning new recipes and cooking techniques in your chosen Masterclass cuisine.
Our programs are designed to engage, energise, and connect. Teams cook and eat what they create, building stronger relationships, trust, and confidence in the process. We can tailor your experience with competitive or collaborative formats, including MasterChef challenges, Amazing Race-style activities, or demonstration-style cooking on request.

ON THE DAY
- Private and Corporate Cooking Events are 2-4 hours in length, depending on your package. We handle all the food, drink and equipment, even aprons so you and your guests can enjoy the bonding time together.
- You are introduced to the chef and team for the day. We prep for one hour. Then we together cook all the dishes. Expect to work in pairs or a small team depending on the team-building format you selected.
- Once the chopping and cutting are complete we invite you to have a drink and celebrate new flavours, exotic ingredients, cooking, drinking, eating and sharing your
creations around a large kitchen table. - We are not an ordinary cooking class, there are no recipes or slide show or lecturing, we are a relaxed space where your team can build connections, make great memories and learn new cuisines and cultures.
BOOKING TERMS
- For the event listed above, a minimum of 10 participants or a minimum spend of $1,650 (whichever is greater) is required.
- Full payment is needed at the time of booking to secure your session, provided the booking is made within 14 days of the event date. Payment can be made via credit/debit card, bank transfer, or cash.
- For groups larger than 12 or 10 guests respectively, the date can be secured with a 50% deposit. The remaining balance is due three (3) weeks before the event, along with final guest numbers and dietary requirements.
- Cancellations made more than 14 days before the event are eligible for a 50% refund of the deposit. For cancellations within 14 days, no refund will be issued and the minimum spend will still apply. No refund will be given for no-shows or early departures on the day.
- Final numbers and dietary requirements must be confirmed at least 14 days before your session. This allows us to pre-order ingredients and allocate staff accordingly.
