Bike Hire – Self Guided Bike Adventure
Point Nepean’s rich history has had a significant impact on Victoria and Australia in terms of immigration, quarantine and defence. Enjoy an adventure with family or friends while cycling along the stunning coastline of the most southern point of the Mornington Peninsula. Hiring a bike allows you to explore the secluded beaches and beautiful coastline of Point Nepean National Park & surrounds in with ease.
Bike Collection:
Pick up your bikes from our bike shop inside Point Nepean National Park. Follow the signs to the Quarantine Station carpark, head towards the water and we are located on the right next to the Parks Victoria Information Centre
We have bikes available for 7+ yrs and bike carriers for kids 6 and under, please call ahead if you would like to book either of these.
Location:
Bayplay Bike Shop – Point Nepean National Park
Duration:
The total distance is about 6km from the Quarantine Station to the last Fort at Point Nepean, 3 hours is plenty of time to explore the park by bike. We recommend at the end of your ride to enjoy the open spaces at the Quarantine station with picnic.
Hire Times:
We hire the our bikes out in session slots, AM and PM, extended times must be requested and approve. Extensions past allocated time may incur a fee. Please contact our office on (03) 5984 0888 if you are looking to hire outside of the scheduled hours.
Inclusions:
1x Bike, 1x Helmet, 1x Bike lock, QR code to scan map of the National Park
What to Bring/Wear:
You should bring a backpack for personal items – cameras, mobile phones, sunscreen, water, snacks etc.
A hat, sunglasses, comfortable clothes for riding and closed toed shoes are recommended.
Participants Conditions
This a self guided experience, there is no guide with you. It is recommended that participants are confident riding on a bike before booking. If you are not confident, we suggest you explore the flat sections of the park up to Observation Point and around Quarantine Station OR book a guided bike ride.
Please note: We hold a security deposit for the time of your hire.
