DESCRIPTION
Enjoy the serenity and stillness of the upper Swan River as you paddle your double kayaks a short distance towards Mandoon Winery for an all inclusive wine tasting and lunch at the magnificent Mandoon Homestead brewery.
We meet at Mandoon Winery in the Swan Valley before transporting you down-stream by car to your launch site at Woodbridge Park. Your guide will carefully explain how to paddle your very safe and stable sit-on-top kayaks.
Then we gently launch you onto the river and take our time paddling from Woodbridge Park to Mandoon Winery. This usually takes about 45 minutes.
On arrival you may change (if you want) before we enjoying a wine tasting and lunch at the wonderful Homestead restaurant.
After lunch you may wander off at your own pace or stay and continue to enjoy Mandoon.
Our tour is designed to be relaxing and non strenuous.You do not need to have any paddling experience as your experienced guide will show you how to paddle the very stable sit-on top kayaks. They are double kayaks so you only have to do half the work.
We provide everything including kayaks, a life jacket and dry bag for your camera etc.
Paddle Rating – EASY
The tour guides keep you in the calm part of the river. We stay away from the large motor boats and ferry traffic. You will paddle slowly for about 30 – 45 minutes before we stop at Mandoon.
What is included?
Your kayak, paddles and life jacket are included in the tour price. We also have dry bags to help protect your wallets and keys. Also you will have a knowledgeable guide with you who is trained to keep you safe. The guide also carries a first aid kit and rescue tow line for your safety.
A wine tasting at the cellar door plus a main meal with an additional wine, beer or soft drink to enjoy during your lunch.
What to wear and bring!
- You need to bring your own weather protection clothing including a hat and sunscreen
- Its possible that you may get splashed or a little wet, so a towel and change of clothes just in case.
- Bring a full water bottle
- Shoes that can be worn in the water like wet-suit shoes or old sandshoes (not essential)
- Some additional money if you want to purchase some extras.
Rest Rooms
There are public toilets a short walk away at the start of the tour, so just ask the guide if you need to use the amenities. You can also use these for changing clothes if necessary.
Starting and finishing Point
We start and finish at the main entrance of Mandoon Winery. Meet your guide here. They will be wearing white long sleeved shirts with GoGo Active logos.
Exclusions
Child under 18 years are unable to participate in the wine tasting and will only be supplied soft drinks during the tour.
