DESCRIPTION
VINEYARD + WINERY + VINTAGE
This is an in-depth, immersive experience at Whicher Ridge to find out more about how grapes are grown, what characters each variety has, and how the wines are cared for, to make sensational small batch wines that you enjoy sipping from a glass.
You will discover how much work goes into producing a bottle of wine, and how much of what you are tasting, depends on the skill of the vigneron and winemaker.
This seasonal wine experience is held on every second Saturday during the vintage months of February, March, April, and May.
In the vineyard it could be grape sampling, ripening or harvest, which are all critical points in the yearly journey of the grapes on a vine becoming wine.
In the winery, it might be barrel stirring, barrel topping, tasting wines in tank or barrel, testing wines in the lab, processing grape samples, plunging red ferments, pressing red ferments or filling barrels.
Each month, this experience will be different, depending on the time of the vintage that you join us.
