DESCRIPTION

Whether we decide to drive clockwise or anticlockwise on this loop trip of the South West we’ll still visit all the highlights along the way.

Wave Rock is conveniently situated about halfway between Perth and Esperance, which makes it an ideal place to stop and break up this drive. Bring your best board shorts or bikini for the obligatory surfing pic!

You might as well stay in your swimmers because you’ll be frothing for a swim when you see the turquoise water and white sandy beaches in Esperance. It’s too good to pass through quickly, so we usually spend a few days here exploring the lagoons, surf spots, and of course the famous Lucky Bay in Cape Le Grade National Park.

Leaving the coast behind, we’ll head to the Stirling Range National Park for an early morning hike to the summit of one of Western Australia’s highest peaks. Sitting above the clouds and watching the sunrise make it well worth the early start.

Denmark and Albany are surrounded by a dramatic coastline and super photogenic bays. We can swim in the gorgeous Greens Pool, hang out at Elephant Rocks, and hover over the powerful ocean at The Gap in Torndirrup National Park.

In the Great Southern Forrest’s there’s the opportunity to get out of your comfort zone and climb above the canopy on an old fire look out tree. 65m up with no ropes and just some wire mesh to keep you in, it’ll get your heart pumping!

Margaret River is famed for its abundance of wineries, cheese and chocolate factories, as well as being a surfer’s paradise! It’d be rude not to sample the goods, both in and out of the water whilst we’re in the area!

At the Southern end of the Margs region we’ll be sure to stop in at Hamelin Bay for a chance to get up close to the resident Stingrays that frequent the shore.

In the surrounding areas of Cape Naturaliste and Yallingup we can take a hike around the Cape with the chance of spotting Sea Lions and migrating Humpback Whales before relaxing on the stunning local beaches.

Whether it be the first or last day of your trip, the iconic wooden jetty in Busselton is perfect for an evening stroll with beer in hand, or even a plunge for the more adventurous.
