DESCRIPTION
Strap in for a breathtaking buggy ride around Port Gregory and the infamous pink lake, Hutt Lagoon. During your travels, your friendly and knowledgeable guide will provide insight on why the lake is pink and the history of the fishing village whilst affording you with stunning views of the dazzling body of water from the sand dune peaks. The special algae blooms in the water gives it its marvellous colour, but depending on the time of day and the sun and clouds, the colour can change through the spectrum of red to a lilac purple. In summer, the lake dries out to form a big salt lake, which is pale pink in colour and can be walked on. On the return, your guide will meander across existing tracks in the dunes and to the shores of the lake for unbeatable photos, with plenty of chances to spot local wildlife and wildflowers along the way.
