If you’re looking for a true wine tour, then this is the one for you. We’ve hand-picked the best wines, from the best winemakers, to create a behind the scenes Swan Valley experience that truly showcases what this historic wine region has to offer.
Designed specifically for winelovers, this semi-private tour with a maximum of just 6 guests takes you behind the scenes for a ‘grape to glass’ VIP experience at some of the region’s best boutique wineries. Get away from the crowds to taste award-winning wines, get to know the locals and enjoy an indulgent day of fine wine and gourmet food.
This is an ‘all inclusive’ tour – with all wine tasting fees, behind the scenes tour, a two-course a la carté lunch, and cheeseboard included in your tour price.
You will visit at least four local wineries for tastings that showcase a range of different wines and styles, including the award-winning wines that the region does best. Our guaranteed small group sizes mean that we get access to wineries that won’t accommodate the big tour buses – so you get away from the crowds and off the regular beaten tourist path.
As a highlight of this tour, we go beyond the cellar door and behind the scenes into the winery and/or vineyard to get an insight into wine production, the unique terroir of this region and be introduced to the signature varietals. This behind-the-scenes insight is unique to each tour depending on what stage in the vintage it is and what is happening in the winery on the day – you may get to see picking, crushing, blending or even experience a barrel tasting – you just never know what will be in store for us!
For lunch, we indulge at a winery restaurant overlooking the vineyards – with your choice of two courses from their seasonal menu featuring local produce – think twice-cooked duck (our personal favourite!), Shark Bay whiting, cured ocean trout and pork cutlet. Or for those with a sweet tooth, the chocolate tart or fresh honeycomb with goats curd for dessert may be your choice!
Most dietary requirements can be catered for with notice, please include these in your booking notes. Drinks with lunch are optional and at your own expense on the day.
All of the wineries we visit are family owned, and hand-picked for their quality winemaking skills, as well as their historical significance to the region – and also because they have an excellent range of wines for you to taste! This is not a cookie-cutter tour, and the wineries we visit can change from day to day to ensure our guests get the best possible experience on each tour. Sometimes this means that you may get access to experiences that are not available to the general public.
The day is set at a relaxed pace so that we have plenty of time for questions and discussion at the wineries and with your fellow wine lovers. This is the ultimate wine tour for people that really want to experience the best hidden gems in the Swan Valley!
Optional Upgrade
If you like to graze throughout the afternoon, you can upgrade your last wine tasting of the day to include a pairing of five canapé sized dishes – with each dish created to enhance the different varietal characteristics found in each of the wines. This option can be selected during booking.
Your Tour Guide
This is not a drop-off service – our wine tours are hosted by passionate ‘wine guides’ that have an internationally recognised (WSET) wine education accreditation, and know the Swan Valley inside out. They are on hand throughout the day to give you as much or as little information as you would like about the history of the region, it’s wineries, varietals and the wines.
Group Size
This is a semi-private tour, which is a high-quality tour made affordable by sharing the cost with others for a total of maximum 6 people only in the group. A minimum of two people booked is required for this tour to run.
