Sydney
Sydney has a feel to it like no other city – light reflected on water, buildings and bushland fringing the bright blue of the Harbour, ferries zipping around, seagulls squealing, excitement in the air. Local Sydney-siders from all walks of life and visitors from all over the World rub shoulders in a good-natured lifestyle. Life is good at Travel Destination Sydney. Sydney is a great city in which to spend time wandering while discovering the historic nooks and crannies that make it so interesting. The Rocks Historic Precinct has been well preserved, Circular Quay is a focal point for Sydney Ferries, and the Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge dominate its centre.
Uluru is one of the World’s Greatest Wonders
Nothing has quite prepared you for the contrast between the red sand stretching to the horizon in every direction and the monolith of red rock jutting upwards like the toe of a sleeping giant sticking up through the desert.
Uluru (Ayers Rock) is a mystical place, one to be savoured as the sun rises and the rock changes colour to meet the new day, or at sunset as the last rays beam across the flat of the desert and highlight the crevices and fissures of Uluru as it settles in for the night. It is almost as if this Australian icon has a personality of its own.
The Great Barrier Reef
The Great Barrier Reef is the world’s largest feature made up of living organisms. Stretching 2,600 kilometres (1,600 miles) down the northeast coast of Queensland, Australia, the Great Barrier Reef can be seen clearly from outer space.
Consisting of more than 900 islands and 2,900 individual reefs, it cannot be experienced by strapping on a mask, snorkel and fins and taking a casual swim from the beach. A great deal of thought has to be given to the style of the Great Barrier Reef trip you wish to take.
Blue Mountains
The Blue Mountains are a part of the Great Australia Dividing Range. This runs up the east coast of Australia from Melbourne in the south to past Cairns in the far north. They are about 1 and 1/2 hours drive from Sydney City and the 3 Sisters lookout and sky rail should be at the top of your bucket list. From here you have stunning expansive views, can smell the Australian bush and see wildlife in the wild, while exploring the many walking and hiking trails.
