Day 1

Take a stroll through the busy Circular Quay to absorb the vibrant harbour and continue on to The Rocks where you’ll find plenty of interesting boutique shops to take home the perfect souvenir. The Rocks is the oldest area of Sydney, once inhabited by the indigenous Gadigal people before the first European settlers claimed the land. You’ll find quaint cafes, restaurants and boutique stores nestled in the heritage preserved sandstone buildings.

Sydney and Bondi Beach hop on and hop off red bus.

As Australia’s largest city, there’s a huge amount to see and do in Sydney – visit the iconic Opera House, make a splash at Bondi Beach and live it up in Darling Harbour. Hop on and off to explore it all at your own pace with a Sydney bus tour.

Blue Mountains Day Trip

Explore the World Heritage-listed Blue Mountains. Stretching over one million hectares, the Blue Mountains is an inspiring mix of rainforest, canyons, tall forests and heathlands; truly one of Australia’s natural wonders. Discover this wonderland of sandstone outcrops, deep ravines, pristine bushland and dramatic cliffs. Enjoy a café lunch in the delightful mountain village of Leura. Relax with your fellow travellers as you take a break. Then, get up-close to Australian animals, including kangaroos and koalas, at a wildlife park.

With the Unlimited Discovery Pass, you’ll ride the steepest incline railway in the world down into a hidden valley. Glide out on the Cableway for panoramic views. Then ride the Skyway 270 metres above ancient ravines and dazzling waterfalls.

Visit the fascinating Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park, Australia’s largest indigenous cultural park, which has been built in a spectacular rainforest setting. Discover this ancient culture through bush food lessons, didgeridoo demonstrations, movie theatres, fire making demonstrations and the famous Tjapukai Dance. A short distance from Tjapukai is the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway. Skyrail takes you over and through the breathtaking World Heritage rainforest of the Barron Gorge National Park. There are two rainforest stations where you can enjoy a ranger-guided boardwalk and observe this ancient rainforest from spectacular lookouts.

On arrival in Kuranda, there is free time to explore the ‘village in the rainforest’ and its many attractions, including the Heritage Markets. After exploring, board the Kuranda Scenic Railway for a historic journey travelling through some of the oldest rainforests in the world. Passing the spectacular Stoney Creek Falls your journey winds through man-made tunnels, across bridges and around curves to arrive at its final destination, Freshwater Station.

Rise early to witness a magical Uluru (Ayers Rock) sunrise, then travel to the stunning red-rock domes of Kata Tjuta and spend time exploring Walpa Gorge.

This afternoon, visit Uluru–Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre to learn more about the Western Desert region, then tour the sacred sites around the base of Uluru with a local driver-guide, learning about the customs of the traditional owners. Walk to sacred Mutitjulu Waterhole, and view ancient Aboriginal rock art. Later, watch as the sun sets over Uluru, bringing out the myriad shades of colour for which the world’s largest monolith is renowned.
